Golf Course Extension Road is a 6 km strip running southeast from Sector 56 down through Sectors 61-67 towards Sohna Road. It didn’t exist as an address ten years ago; now it holds Ireo, Emaar and DLF residential towers, a handful of new business hotels and the M3M and Trump Tower complexes. It serves the corporate parks in Sectors 65 and 68 — Genpact, American Express, Snapdeal — plus the Sohna Road offices to the south.

The pitch is simple: newer rooms, lower rates, less traffic — for a slightly worse commute to anywhere central. Rates run ₹7607-₹12361 for legit 4-star product at Radisson Blu, Fortune Select and Vivanta. The trade-off is no metro yet (planned, not built), so every trip requires a cab, and the last-mile road quality on the interior sectors is genuinely poor after rain. Suits price-conscious business travellers whose meetings sit south of Sector 55.

Locally the stretch is also signed as Southern Peripheral Road (SPR), the official name Haryana Urban Development Authority uses even though every taxi app still lists Golf Course Extension Road. Sector 65’s M3M Trump Towers and the Ireo Skyon residential block in Sector 60 give the strip its skyline, but at street level it is still building sites, boundary walls and the odd stray cow between towers. By 9pm the malls have shut, most restaurants close by 11, and the road itself goes properly quiet — this is a sleep-and-commute address, not one to wander after dark.

Families and leisure travellers get little for their money here beyond the discount versus Cyber City — there’s no equivalent of Kingdom of Dreams or the DLF malls within walking distance, and weekend footfall in the few open cafes is thin. Anyone whose Gurugram trip mixes business with sightseeing is better based on Golf Course Road or MG Road, where the evening options are denser. This stretch earns its keep purely on rate and proximity to the Sector 65-70 corporate parks; treat it as a functional base, not a destination in itself.

Where to stay in Golf Course Extension Road

Best cluster is between Sector 62 and Sector 65 on the main road — Radisson Blu, Fortune Select Global, Country Inn Sohna Road all fall here. ₹8082-₹12361 midweek. Avoid anything advertising Sector 66+ as a base; you’re then 25 minutes to Cyber City in decent traffic and 45 in bad. Also avoid ground-floor rooms in the newer builds — noise from generators is a real issue during power cuts. Rates sit toward the top of that band, closer to ₹12361, through the October-March conference season when the Sector 65 corporate parks are busiest, and drop toward ₹8082 in the slower May-July stretch.
